Purposes and Objectives How to join Membership dues and privileges
The Burgenländische Gemeinschaft (BG)
is an association that was established in 1956 with the objective to build a global community of Burgenländers, notably of Burgenländers who emigrated to other European countries, to the U.S.A. or other overseas countries, and to foster their and their descendants attachment to Burgenland. Members receive a periodical newletter with news about what is happening in Burgenland and to Burgenländers all over the world. All over the world Burgenländers have established regional chapters of the Burgenländische Gemeinschaft. They contribute substantially to promoting the image of their homeland abroad and are important opinion-makers for the Austrian economy and tourism. T Those Burgenländers are already friends of our home country and need not be won through costly promotions for Austria and the Burgenland. The mission of the Burgenländische Gemeinschaft is
As an acknowledged representative of the interests of expatriate Burgenländers and through its ties with the "Auslandsösterreicher Weltbund" as well as the ministry of foreign affairs, the Burgenländische Gemeinschaft also has a big say in all matters that concern expatriate Austrians. |
